THIS coming Saturday, 8th September, all roads lead to Bridgnorth Town, as the Pics have a break from the bread and butter of League football and play their first FA Cup game of the season.
Saturday, is FA Cup day, and what a game promises to be in store against two in form teams.
Bridgnorth are currently members of the Midland Football Alliance League currently standing in sixth position although they do have two games in hand over the leading two clubs Stratford Town and Boldmere St. Michaels.
Their league season saw them begin with a 3-1 away win at Coleshill Town, followed by a 2-0 home victory over Studley and then a 2-2 draw with Rocester. A 1-1 draw at newly promoted Gornal Athletic was then followed by a 1-0 win over Causeway United thanks to a last minute own goal.
In the FA Cup they already have wins over Boldmere St. Michaels (3-1) and Lye Town (1-0) to thank for getting them here today while in the FA Vase they were 3-0 winners at Wednesfield to set up a home clash with Racing Club Warwick.
Sixteen goals have been scored from eight league and cup games and on their sloping pitch will certainly be up for the game. Their goals have been shared amongst the squad and it certainly promises to be a typical FA Cup tie.
Manager, Neil Kitching, said ahead of the game that his side will certainly have to approach the game on the right, professional, way and if they do that he is hoping they can go on to win the game, but under no circumstances is he under estimating the home side.
For such an important game it would be great to see as many Rushall fans as possible making the twenty five mile trip to cheer the team on to what we hope will be a place in the second qualifying round.
For any supporters thinking of travelling to the game the full ground address is:
Bridgnorth Town Football Club, Crown Meadow, Innage Lane, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, WV16 4HL and the game kicks off at 3.00pm.
