KITCHING READY FOR ACTION

PICS' boss, Neil Kitching is hoping that Saturday's Doodson Sport League Cup Final against North Ferriby United will beat the weather and go ahead as planned.

The recent wet weather saw Wednesday's scheduled Staffordshire Senior Cup clash with Kidsgrove Athletic postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Vale Park.

"It was disappointing that Wednesday's game did not go ahead," admitted Kitching. "On a positive note, it has given a few of the lads a bit of extra time to recover from niggles and there were one or two of them back in training on Thursday night.

"Hopefully Saturday's game will go ahead as we are desperate to get out there and play.

"It promises to be a close encounter. They finished just above us and we had a couple of close games against them in the League.

"Both clubs are evenly matched. They are strong physically, but so are we, so it should be quite a battle, one that we are looking forward to.

"It will be about which team wants it more on the day and, of course, who adapts best to the conditions, which are sure to be heavy."

The game takes place at Eastwood Town's Coronation Park. Admission is £8 (adults), £4 (concessions) and £2 (under-16s).
