Higher league Rushall Olympic were made to fight all the way before they finally saw off the brave challenge of neighbours Bloxwich United AFC by two goals to one in a repeat of last season’s Walsall Senior Cup Final at the Red Lion ground.
On the night a brace from front runner Ahmed Obeng against his former club was enough for the Pics to gain ample redress for their shock defeat at the Banks’s Stadium last May, although a late goal by the hosts made it a somewhat nervy ending for Rushall, despite Chris Morris having hit the woodwork on three separate occasions during the tie.
Olympic now face Warstone Wanderers in the Semi-Final at Dales Lane on a date to be arranged.
