THE CURRENT cold snap is playing havoc with fixture lists and training schedules up and down the country.
“It appears that this is something that we have to plan and prepare for every season now,” admitted Pics’ boss, Neil Kitching. “It’s difficult as a squad and as a club, but everyone is in the same boat and we just have to make the best out of the situation.
“We have been fortunate to find alternative venues on which to train and make every effort to ensure that the squad gets together for Tuesday and Thursday evening training as normal to keep things ticking over ready for when the action gets underway again.
“It’s all about pre-planning. Last weekend when our game at Nantwich was called off we’d already arranged a friendly on the 3G surface against Bolehall Swifts.
“That was a good work-out for us and even though it was only a friendly, winning is a habit and to come out of it with a 2-0 victory was pleasing.
“Everyone got a minimum of 45 minutes action under their belt, which was a big plus and it was nice to see Mitchell Botfield in action for the first time. He got a full 90 minutes and did well.”
