Ruskin Park RUFC will host a Touch Rugby tournament on Saturday 14th July 2012, as part of the St Helens Sports Festival, organised by St Helens Council.

Following last year’s successful inaugural tournament, we are hoping to expand this year’s event. There will be two separate competitions, one for social sides and another for more competitive teams. The event is open to complete novices, experienced sports players and both men and women. This gives everyone the opportunity to get active and get involved!

This event is part of a full weekend of sport taking place at Ruskin Drive Sports Ground. Rugby Union will feature alongside tennis, cricket, football, rugby league, crown green bowling, and rounders competitions. In addition to this, sports entertainment and activities will be on site!

Both touch competitions will consist of group stages, then dependent on relevant finishing positions, teams will progress into a further cup, bowl, vase and plate group stage to decide a winner. Each winning side will be presented with a trophy to mark their success.

The competition will be 6 a side. We would recommend that teams attempt to get 8 players, to allow for substitutions as necessary. All players must be aged 18 or over. There is no restriction on the number of male/female players per team. Teams will be required to register from 10am, with competitions commencing at 10.30am. In order to enter a team, a fully refundable deposit of £20 is required. This will be returned on the day of the event. If you would like to enter a team please complete and return the attached form, along with deposit payment, to the address below.
