Ruthin town 2 - Guilsfield 1
A narrow win for another 3 points
Ruthin narrowly escaped with a victory against 9 men Guilsfield. The visitors looked the dominant team before the game changed when Stuart Rogers received a second yellow on 25 minutes to leave Guilsfield with 10 men.
Ruthin then took the game to Guilsfield and Llyr Morris put Ruthin ahead with a penalty following a hand ball a few minutes before half time.
Jordan MacCarter made it 2-0 just after the interval with a cool finish after some great work by Llyr Morris on the left.
When Adam Jenkins received a straight red for retaliation on the half hour mark Ruthin looked comfortable against the 9 men.
Guilsfield had other ideas and clawed their way back into the game with a penalty of their own converted by Asa Hamilton on 74 minutes.
This led to a dramatic fight back by the 9 men who dominated the last 15 minutes and had chances to equalise as Ruthin failed to keep the ball on a heavy pitch. Ruthin had chances of their own on the break but were grateful to hear the final whistle to take the three points from a spirited Guilsfield side.
