Holywell 5 - Ruthin 0
A tough day for the first team
A hat-trick by Sam Jones put paid to any hopes Ruthin may have had to beating a top six side for the third game in succession.
There was nothing to choose between the two sides in a goal less first half with both sides having chances to go ahead.
Holywell came out firing in the second half and were awarded a penalty in the first minute of the restart which Sam Jones converted with aplomb. Llyr Morris had a strong appealed for a penalty of his own soon after but the referee booked him of diving. Matthew Harvey made it two on 63 minutes which seemed to send Ruthin into a panic which stopped them working as a unit. This was followed by a third by Sam Jones a minute later to end the game as a contest.
Sam Jones completed his hat-trick with 5 minutes to go before Mark Gunter finished things off at the death.
