Ruthin Town 2 - Llandudno Junction 0
Town take the points.
Ruthin Town completed the double over Llandudno Junction in an effective and workmanlike manner. A bouncy pitch made Ruthin’s usual quick passing game difficult to play and it effected the afternoon quite a bit. Despite Ruthin’s control of the game it could have been the home side who took the lead had it not been for some good saves from Ryan Goldston in the Ruthin goal. The first half remained goalless but Ruthin did have their chances with shots going wide of the target.
Llyr Morris hit the post soon into the second half and the Ruthin faithful began to become concerned that it might be one of those days. Jordan MacCarter had other ideas however as he went down the wing on 64 minutes to cross for Gwion Owen to slot home the first goal. Ruthin felt as if they needed another goal to be safe and Llyr Morris duly obliged with his 25th league goal in 21 matches 9 minutes later.
Ruthin had other chances, notably Kevin Evans who had a shot saved and Craig Wilkinson who managed to put the ball over the bar from around 6 yards which we can put down to an awkward bobble!!!
A good result from a difficult place to visit with some notable performances from up and coming teenagers, Mathew Williams, Ryan Goldston, who made some excellent saves in goal, and Isaac Rasell-Edwards who had a great game at left back. Cai Davies also looked comfortable in his first full game for the first team.
