Slow starting game with 50/50 possession with both team battling it out for the first points on the board. Eventually Sharks taken the lead with a converted try, Sharks then went over again for the second try of the game. The first chance for Tigers to get some points came when the Tigers drove up the field and touched down under the sticks with the try being converted. The first half of the game ended with a penalty kick to make the score 12 points to 8 in favour of the Sharks.

Early in the second half the Sharks took the first points of the second half with a drive over the line with the try unsuccessfully converted, it taken 15 minutes for more points on the score line as the Tiger sharks kicked a 2 point penalty to make the game 16 - 10 to the Sharks. The game suddenly fired up when Tigers scored a 50 metre try being converted the level the game to 16 - 16. From that point the Tigers had all of the ball and was determined to get in the position for the one point, Tigers came close the the point but was put under pressure and were forced to put in the grubber with only 4 minutes to go, from the kick the Tigers received a drop goal which gave them another chance to get into good position, with 3 hard drives from the props and a scoot from the 9 gave the Tigers great position for the 1 point. It was to be Tigers day when Ryan Hickey successfully landed the point with 2 minutes to go.
