SHARKS TOO STRONG FOR UNICORNS !!!!
Ryland's Sharks U8's 8-2 Latchford Albion Unicorns
The Unicornns started this derby game on the attack but made little headway due to some strong defence from Bobby Shingler, JJ SCARISBRICK and LIAM ARGENT. Bobby Finns first drive got Rylands within thirty metres of their opponents line when DYLAN ALCOCK took the next drive and was far too strong for the brave Latchford defenders scoring to give the sharks an early lead. Once again Rylands held out their opponents with strong defense. BAYLEY COLLEDGE, JAMES KEENAN and LIAM ARGENT made some good metres before DYLAN ALCOCK grabbed his second try of the evening from close range. Latchford got on the scoreboard with a great run from their full back who beat several shark defenders to score in the corner. The introduction of JAKE WILLIAMS from the bench made life even harder for the Unicorn defenders when he stormed over from twenty five metres out with a great run, making the scores 3-1 to the Sharks at half time.
Good running from ROBBIE SLATER, MASON GAMBLE and JOE LAVIN gave JAKE WILLIAMS an opportunity to grab his second of the game , which he did when he barged over from close range. Latchford hit straight back when their centre took on the Sharks defense and scored a length of the field effort. JAKE WILLIAMS capped off a great performance with his hat trick try when he was just too strong for the Unicorns. Nathan Groarkes effort in both defense and attack were rewarded when he darted over with a great show of pace rounding the Latchford defenders. MASON GAMBLE, JOE LAVIN and DYLAN ALCOCK all went very close to adding more tries for the Sharks but credit to the Unicorns, they held strong until the final couple of minutes when MASON GAMBLE added a well deserved try squeezing through the Latchford defense. Not to be out done DYLAN ALCOCK scored on the last play of the game making it two hat tricks in as many weeks. Most improved player for the Sharks was MASON GAMBLE and player of the match went to JAKE WILLIAMS.
