Rylands Sharks 22 – St Pats 12

Rylands travelled to St Pats feeling hungry for a full sided game and that’s what they got.
The conditions were very dry and dusty and both teams suffered injury throughout the game but as Pats only had there 11 we had to keep reducing the numbers for injuries, Fair play to the Pats 1st aider as she had them patched up and back on the field in no time.
The Ryland’s team got stuck in from the word go and a great defensive set of 6 was the result leaving Pats with very few yards gained but the handover came and Ryland’s hit the ball hard, so hard we knocked on the 1st and the gasps came thick and fast.
Undeterred the Sharks put in another great defensive set and the handover came again this time the boys were making no mistakes and the game took grip.
Some great end to end action followed and the sharks soon got the upper hand. Some long range TRY’S came from good passing skills and it was good to see the lads calling in the right players for the right moves. The forwards were driving it up and the backs completed the sets with impressive results.
The Sharks took advantage of the weather conditions and the high winds meant the kicking game was out and the boys would have to work hard driving it up the field, Pats continued to kick and the results were drastic when nearly all their attempts lead to the Sharks getting possession.
All in all a good display of rugby came from both teams but the Sharks outplayed St Pats on the day and came away with the win.
