Rangers came away from Wigan St Cuthberts disappointed not to have won a game that was there for the taking. Playing up the slope in the first half the Rangers defence was holding out well against a strong St Cuthberts side. The home side took to the lead when Rangers players misunderstood the referee's call expecting a kick. Rangers responded with a well worked try by Elijah Wolstenholme and was goaled by Jack Harrison-Brown.
St Cuthberts again came back at Rangers to score an unconverted try, Elijah Wolstenholme managed to score his and Rangers second try of the game following good work from the forwards. Unfortunately the kick was missed. Despite lots of possession and playing mainly in the st Cuthberts half of the field Rangers couldn't find a way over the try line to take the lead. Full time Score 10 each.
