The club yesterday had its Volunteer Thank You Lunch at Henham

Around forty volunteers attended yesterday's SWRFC volunteer lunch at Henham. Despite the intense heat, guests were kept refreshed by free drinks and a superbly cooked BBQ meal by David and Morgan Brewer and also Dominic Russell.
Club president Peter Reader thanked everyone for their hard work over the past season and wished them well for next. Peter added that 'Volunteers are the life-blood of a community club like ours - without them we would simply not survive as a club.'
A special mention was given to Martin 'Tiny' Curtis who will be stepping down from his role as Club Treasurer after many year's service to the club. Apart from looking after the club's (and Cambs County's) coffers for many years, Tiny has been instrumental in the running of the clubhouse for many years and will be simply irreplaceable - he even supplied the food for the event!
SWRFC are always looking for new volunteers to help with the running of the club, if you would like to help then please contact info@swrfc.co.uk
