Sale Hockey Club is part of Sale Sports Club and was founded in 1888 and is one of the most established sporting and sociable clubs in the North West
Currently this North West hockey club, based in South Manchester, supports 4 Mens teams, 3 Ladies teams and a constantly expanding youth development section.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to, play league or friendly hockey, or simply socialise in a safe and very friendly environment, please come down and see us at training or at the Sale Sports Clubhouse on a Saturday.

Hi there Rob,
The club was founded in 1888 - not 1989. I helped organise the Centenary events and made the welcome speech to the guests from Cheshire and Lancashore clubs at the anniversary dinner at the Novotel, Worsley. Dave Walmsley responded on behalf of the guests. The first match in 1888 was against Timperley and in the centenary match we beat them 2-1. I scored both goals for Sale. BTW, I've lived in Tasmania since 1999 and have the Top Goalscorer trophy, which was presented to me at the AGM in 1999, since I was deemed the club's all-time top goal scorer after more than 500 goals in 25 years as a member of the club. Just remembered Simon Athefold got the first against Timperley. I scored both goals in a 2-1 win the morning after the centenary dinner.
