All coaches must be level 2 qualified, working towards level 2 or currently enrolled on a level 2 course.


Certification
Coaches who are level 2 qualified will receive certification at the end of the course subject to successful completion of the practical assessment. A copy of your current First Aid certificate and Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop certificate (dated within 3 years). Coaches who are working towards level 2 qualification will receive their Goalkeeping Coach Bronze Award following level 2 accreditation.

The Course Content
The course involves 13 hours of tutored pitch-time and theory work, covering health & safety awareness, an introduction to talent identification, understanding & delivery of core skills, planning & reporting and an assessment. The practical programme will cover:
• Warm Ups & Cool downs
• Kicking – basics, safe, power, accuracy
• Use of hands
• Use of pads
• Low diving
• Smothering
• Penalty Corner long barrier
• Penalty Corner drag flicks
• Penalty strokes

The Assessment
A 20 minute practical assessment will take place on the course.
