Gaffers Pick Up Manager of the Month Award

2 weeks ago By Andy Giblin

Salford City managerial duo Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley have been named as the National League North managers of the month for September.

During September the Ammies picked up 13 points from 5 league fixtures, beginning with a 1-1 draw at Curzon Ashton on the 2nd. Not the perfect start for the month but things got quite a lot better the following Tuesday as previously unbeaten leaders Harrogate Town were beaten on a dramatic evening in North Yorkshire.

That result allowed Brackley Town to go top but they had to visit Moor Lane on Saturday 12th and were knocked off their perch by a 2-0 defeat. Nuneaton Town were conclusively beaten 3-0 on Tuesday 15th and on the last Saturday of the month a Mike Phenix goal was enough to bring 3 points home from Gainsborough. Four wins, 1 draw and 3 clean sheets was a great return for the month and Bernard and Jonno deservedly picked up the divisional manager of the month award.

Congratulations to both managers, their backroom staff and the players for a splendid effort !
