Firstly Paul we'd like to congratulate on your man-of-the-match performance at the weekend. How did it feel?
Great! It was a really good performance from everyone involved though. A top team effort!
Now playing the same team three times in a month is never ideal. With Castell Alun winning the last two how did the team prepare for this one?
We obviously were able to identify their strengths. We had performed badly in the previous two encounters, the lads knew that, but yesterday we showed great character.
The formation that we set up with was a perfect balance for such a tight match. Defensively we looked solid, and always looked like creating chances in attack! The manager went through how he wanted us to play with me holding and letting Gregs and Woody being more advanced to support the attack!
For me though, the big difference to the previous encounters was that we were getting stuck in, winning second ball and then keeping ball well!
So looking forward to the next round, you’re set to face Brymbo in February. What are your initial thoughts?
Well firstly their playing surface is perfect for us. Our final victory of the Horace Wynne Cup last season was played at Brymbo and suited us well.
As for Brymbo themselves, I think they are currently mid table in the Premier Division. We will go there with respect as always, but they will be more worried about us than what we are of them.
I'm quite confident we can come away with a victory because when we play we really do play and could cause an upset at most grounds. The victory against FC Cefn last season in the same cup is something we should all be thinking about.
And looking back to the league, how do you see the league campaign panning out?
If we keep winning then we will win the league simple as that. We certainly have enough quality within the squad to achieve promotion.
Last season was disappointing with us dropping points against lower teams when we know we should have won.
This season is panning out a little different as we haven't dropped as many points as we did last year.
Last season was a massive achievement for the club to win 2 cups in its first season of its history, but we all know it’s the league that we want.
Everyone around the club is determined to play at the higher level and we’re ready to give everything to ensure that it happens.
Thanks Paul, have a great Christmas and we’ll hopefully get a chance to speak again when the season restarts on January the seventh.
