Salts edge friendly
Late winner from skipper Jack Morrow
SALTS 3-2 HEBDEN BRIDGE
We kicked off 2018 with a friendly win against the Division 2 visitors. Many of the lads hadn’t kicked a ball in anger for over a month and it showed as we never really hit top gear.
Salts had most of the first half with the visitors looking dangerous on the break. We scored a fortuitous goal when the keeper allowed Alex Clark’s long range effort to slip through his hands. Alex then scored his second giving the keeper no chance.
After the break we made several changes and didn’t play with cohesion. Hebden pulled back to 2-all as we failed to take at least three great chances. With six minutes to go an excellent solo goal from Jack Morrow put us back in front and the team shut up shop.
