Littletown v Salts U17
Not as easy as it looks . . .
A comprehensive win in the end but it wasn’t as easy as it seems. A couple of late dropouts due to illness meant Jamie Mitchelll took over between the posts and David Roper moved into centre midfield and both had excellent games.
We looked good going forward and created several chances before Alex Clark powerfully headed home Will King’s cross. Will then setup Finlay King to score on the turn. Karl Harris won a penalty which was missed but Luke Kelly gave us a 3-0 halftime lead. It could have been very different as the home team created four good 1-on-1 chances but were unable to find the net.
Straight after the break Littletown powered back with their first goal. This was the cue for skipper Jack Morrow fire his team up and more goals followed. Finlay scored from Alex’s through ball, Alex was set up by Tom Sorren and Jake Brown scored a stunning free kick after Nat Wilson Fleming was brought down just outside the box. Tom headed against the post and Matthew Padgett also went close. Will then won a penalty from which Matthew Morton scored his first goal of the season. Will himself scored from Nat’s pass. Finlay completed a fine hat-trick and Karl scored the tenth. The lads seemed to think that was it and allowed Littletown to score twice in time-added-on.
