Sandhurst won through to the final of the Southern Combination Cup with a hard fought victory against Westfield last night.

The first half proved to be a stalemate as both teams struggled to get into a rhythm. The best chance of the first half fell to John Symons who put the ball over the bar with the goal at his mercy. the Westfield keeper had to be substituted just before half time breaking his arm whilst making a save.

In the 2nd half Sandhurst took control and created a number of chances which they were unable to convert. Goalkeeper Matt Watson made a save at the feet of Westfield centre forward with only 2 minutes remaining to keep things level.

In extra time Salv switched Dan Jewell up front and in last minute of extra time he rose high to meet a cross from Mark Watkins to head Sandhurst into the lead.

Immediately after the restart the Westfield keeper was beaten gain when Matt Day fired home from close range. Dan Jewell put the icing on the cake when he scored with a run from just inside the Westfield half.
