Sandown & Shanklin RFC continue their fight on three fronts this season, as they look to grace the London & SE Junior Vase with their first appearance. Following a bye in the first round, and a pullout in the second, Sandown & Shanklin will now host Old Wimbledonians in the third round of the Vase.
Old Wimbledonians, currently hold 6th place in Surrey 1, the Hampshire equivalent of Hampshire 1. They will make the trip down to the Fairway following their success in the second round, defeating Sittingbourne from Kent, 76-0.
The Hurricanes are reeling from their away defeat to Fordingbridge, as they travelled to the New Forest based side and almost provided another upset, after coming back from 14-7 down. Yet the 15 men from Sandown could not quite keep the hosts at bay, eventually going down 38-19 with a few late decisions going against the islanders.

The Hurricanes should have most of their men available this week. 1st XV Captain Sam Rees is still recovering from an injury picked up in the Hampshire Plate. Dave Owen will not make it after injuring his ankle against Fordingbridge last weekend. On the long term injury list we have: Jack Wedderkop, Luke Wedderkop and David Greenough, who are sadly still recovering, and hope they are going well.
Prop Ben Harvey returned last weekend, following his rib injury sustained against Fordingbridge the last time out.

Nevertheless, please come and support the Hurricanes this Saturday (2nd December), kick off from 1400 and the clubhouse open fro 1300.
