OPEN MEETING - SEPTEMBER 2008

Prior to the Festival, all the Scottish participating Clubs were circulated with a Questionnaire seeking their opinions and thoughts , with a view to hold a Meeting soon after the Festival to explore the long term Legacy of the Event and how to progress and promote Golden Oldies Rugby in Scotland. All were delighted with the positive responses received from all and the willingness to create a Golden Oldies Rugby structure in Scotland.

Having 16 new Scottish Teams participating in the World Festival, a follow up Meeting to discuss the future of Golden Oldies Rugby in Scotland was held at Murrayfield Stadium on Sunday 19th October, 2008. This Meeting was Chaired by Jim Stevenson, President of the Scottish Rugby Union who participated in the Festival playing in an amalgamated Team consisting of the Gnomes from Zurich and Chiba Ken from Nagasaki !
