On a cold bright morning the Stormers took the short trip over to Market Rasen for what turned out to be a phenomenal game of rugby where the teamwork of the Stormers was evident.
The first half saw Market Rasen taking advantage of the napping Stormers to run in the opening try of the game. The Stormers woke up and from a Market Rasen scrum tackles from Osborn and Horton ensured that they couldn’t make anything of it before stealing the ball from another scrum the ball travelling through the hands of Warburton, Osborn, Dawson, Murray, Bradwell and Conroy who put the ball down safely over the try line. Market Rasens kick was safely caught by Kelly and was passed to Ingram who had the support of Warburton when he was tackled. Market Rasen dropped the ball having won the ball from a scrum it was quickly picked up by Kelly before making ground as it went through the hands of Conroy and Ingram, Market Rasen won the ball back from a scrum and kicked only to be picked up by Barratt who took it forward. A penalty to Market Rasen saw them kick to touch from the lineout the Stormers forwards worked together in a series of aggressive and hard-fought rucks. Once again Market Rasen were awarded a scrum and took the ball out only to be tackled by Osborn, the ball found Horwell who ran the ball almost half the pitch before passing over to Conroy whose kick took an unlucky bounce to touch. Play continued for a while with neither side dominating until a scrum was awarded to Market Rasen well into their own half, against the head the Stormers won the ball and took it forward passing through the hands of Lythgoe, Hall, Warburton who was tackled Horwell collected the ball and made ground before passing out to Parkin, Hall, Conroy, Horwell, Barrett, Conroy and Dawson who was tackled from the ruck the ball came out and back to Hall before finding the hands of Warburton and Horton who made the final pass to Osborn who took the last few metres over the line to score with Horwells boot scoring the conversion. Market Rasens kick went to touch the lineout ball going from Barrett to Hall then Conroy and Parkin who was tackled, Market Rasen intercepted a pass but couldn’t make anything of it as Scunthorpe stole the ball back, before a penalty to Market Rasen which was taken quickly, the Stormers forwards were in quickly but a lucky break from Market Rasen saw them take advantage and score a try.

Scunthorpes kick was caught by Market Rasen but Barrett and Parkin were in with quick tackles, Market Rasen kicked the ball but Kelly scooped it up passing to Conroy before it went through the hands of Warburton, Stevens, Bradwell, Conroy, Horton, Dawson, Horton, Osborn and then back to Conroy who was tackled Market Rasen stole the ball in the ruck and kicked to touch. Barretts throw was caught by Hall who passed out to Horwell and then Conroy before it found the hands of Osborn. A Scrum awarded to Market Rasen saw them take off down the wing and run in a try. The restart saw the ball swap sides several times before Market Rasen stole the ball and ran in another try. Scunthorpe refused to give up and from the kick tackled the ball catcher into touch, the lineout saw the practised throw of Barrett find Hall who used his power to make ground before being tackled Market Rasen stole the ball back but Tackles by Warburton, Stevens and Hall meant that they couldn’t make anything of it. A scrum was awarded to Scunthorpe with Horwell collecting the ball and passing to Stevens before the ball found Osborn who ploughed through the opposition to put the ball down over the line. Market Rasens kick was followed by fantastic attacking play by the Stormers with tackles being made and finally a scrum was awarded to Scunthorpe the ball came out to Conroy who kicked it forward Murray made a huge chase to pick up the ball shrug off a tackle and just manage to put it down over the try line in the corner. Market Rasens kick was caught by Hall who passed to Lythgoe and between them they took the ball forward down the wing. Eventually the ball went into touch and from the lineout Market Rasen took the ball before being stopped by a tackle from Barratt from the ruck Osborn picked up ball passing to Ingram before a penalty was awarded to Market Rasen who kicked to touch the lineout ball wasn’t used by Market Rasen and bounced loose only to be picked up by Lythgoe who passed to Conroy the ball then went through the hands of Ingram, Osborn, Horwell , Horton, Conroy and finally to Murray who put the ball down in the identical spot over the try line.
