For the last 15-aside game of the season the Stormers welcomed Driffield to Oglesby Park, the question was could they continue their winning streak and make it 11 games on the bounce – once again the answer was a resounding YES!!!

Scunthorpe’s kick was caught by Driffield but good tackles by the Stormers slowed their advance until a tackle by Dawson allowed Warburton to collect the ball passing out to Lugsden who came down the wing only to be bundled into touch. Driffield’s lineout ball went loose and was picked up by Bradwell who passed it over to Stevens who made ground towards the try line before the ball was passed to Horwell, back to Stevens then Warburton and finally Dawson who put the ball down over the try line for the opening try of the game with Horwells kick scoring the extras. Driffield’s kick was caught by Barratt O who passed across to Stevens who danced through the opposition until he was caught and the ball knocked on, from the scrum the ball came out through the hands of Horwell, Lythgoe and then to Conroy whose kick saw the ball going to touch. Driffield’s lineout ball allowed them to make some ground but tackles from Stevens, Morrell and Lythgoe allowed the Stormers to steal the ball back and pass across the pitch. From a Driffield scrum the powerful pack won the ball with the ball coming out and going through the hands of Horwell, Conroy, Barratt O who was tackled with Conroy coming back to collect the ball and make good ground towards the try line but as the Driffield players closed in he passed the ball to Osborn who safely delivered the ball over the try line. Driffield’s kick was caught by Horwell and then Osborn, a hand off to the face saw a penalty awarded to Scunthorpe. From a Driffield lineout Scunthorpe once again stole the ball and passed across the pitch until a scrum was awarded to Driffield which once again saw the Stormers win against the head with Osborn collecting the ball and passing to Murray, then Bradwell and finally Craze who scored the try with Horwell adding the extras. Driffields kick saw them win the ball only for Osborn to come in with a crunching tackle, they managed to hold onto the ball and danced through to gain some ground only for the Stormers to steal it back in a ruck. From a Driffield lineout the ball once again came out in Scunthorpe’s favour going through the hands of Dawson, Stevens, Barratt O and Lugsden who dived down the wing only to be bundled over the touch line. Driffield’s lineout ball bounced off the chest of Hall to Barrett K allowing Scunthorpe to gain possession and pass across the pitch until once again a scrum was awarded to Driffield with the ball in their possession they made ground but tackles by Lugsden, Morrell, Hall, Barrett K, Osborn and Stevens slowed their momentum but after a series of tap and go penalties they had the upperhand and finally made it across the try line to score (Fury).

The second half started with the kick from Driffield being caught by Morrell who passed across to Horwell then Osborn, Pilarczyk who stretched his legs to make ground passing to Horwell and then Stevens. A scrum awarded to Driffield saw them brig the ball out only to be tackled by Craze forming a maul with Hall who used his strength to hold them up resulting in a penalty to the Stormers from the resulting scrum Horwell collected the ball and the ball went across the pitch through the hands of Conroy, Stevens, Morrell, Pilarczyk, Conroy, Ingram, Morrell, Craze and Christer who was stopped by a tackle Horwell collected the ball from the ruck and passed to Conroy and the Pilarczyk, from a scrum Driffield fumbled the ball Stevens saw the opportunity collecting the ball and scoring a try under the posts with Conroys boot kicking the conversion. Driffields kick was caught by Warburton who was quickly tackled but had passed the ball to Horwell and then Stevens who was tackled offloading back to Horwell then through the hands of Conroy, Osborn, Morrell and then to Pilarczyk who despite an attempt at juggling lost the ball to touch. From the lineout Driffield passed across the pitch and kicked the ball which was caught by Horwell who with lighting fast feet made a huge amount of ground passing to Christer who was forced into touch from the lineout Driffield then kicked the ball only to be caught by Conroy and then passed to Horwell who with a determined glint in his eyes dodged through the Driffield defence to place the ball over the try line and then scored the conversion. Driffield were quick to respond taking the advantage from a penalty and scoring a try (Fury). Scunthorpe’s kick was caught by Driffield but some good tackling by Morrell, Stevensm Ingram, Bradwell and Horwell allowed Conroy to steal the ball back passing over to Horwell, the ball flew loose but Craze dived on it allowing Lugsden to collect passing to Conroy and then Warburtonl who found the whitewash to score a try. Play continued with Horwell catching Driffield’s kick and kicking it back towards them followed up by tackles by Stevens and Dawson, with a penalty awarded to Driffield they attempted to run through the Stormers but tackles by Stevens and Lugsden allowed the Stormers to steal the ball back and the kick went to touch, Driffield’s lineout saw Hall in guick to put pressure on allowing Horwell to steal the ball and run forward almost making over the try line only to be stopped short, play continued with a penalty awarded to Driffield which saw them stretch their legs and run forward before a huge tackle by Stevens stopped them allowing Bradwell to collect the ball passing over to Dawson who popped the ball to Conroy as he was tackled who ran through the Driffield defence before the ball went to Pilarczyk and Morrell, the ball was knocked loose and collected by Driffield but in the final play tackles by Osborn and Morrell forced them to run down the wing where Lugsdens tackle took them into touch.
