Quarter Final Place for the Millers.....

On a weekend full of cup shocks Sea Mills Park dealt out another to high flying Longwell Green Res. at Kingsweston in the Premier Cup 2nd Round .

Our first game for nearly 6 weeks, on a heavy pitch against a side a league above, and the visitors in the refs ear prior to kick saying, " We'll hammer these" , the odds were stacked.

Longwell did take the lead on 20mins with an absolute wonder strike from 25 yrds nestling in the top left hand corner. But the Millers dug-in winning a penalty after getting the run of the game, this pressure kick was converted by Scott Chancellor to make it 1-1 going into half-time.

The game was end to end but Sea Mills had the chances on target, where as Longwell were wastful in the final third. And on 70 mins young Blaine Skuse found himself in space and only the goalie to beat and slotted home to make it 2-1.

In the closing stages Sea Mills could of made it a third when Chancellor missed from close range hitting the post.

A long journey back down the ring road for Longwell who had such high hopes , but its the Blues of Sea Mills that take their place in the Premier Cup Quarter Finals .
