Leinster Under 17 League Final image

Seapoint v Clontarf Venue: Coolmine Rugby Club- Kick Off: Saturday Feb 4th 12:30

Please support our under 17's in the Leinster league Final this Saturday in Coolmine RFC Kick off 1230pm.

The team recently won a hard fought semi final against the League holders Greystones. Captain Sean Kearns kicked 3 first half penalties to make the half time score 9 nil. Seapoint faced a strong wind in the second half and with a superb defensive performance by both forwards and backs managed to limit Greystones to a single penalty. The final score was Seapoint 12 Greystones 3.

The squad likes to test itself against the best and will travel to the home of Irish rugby on March 31st to play Shannon. They will also experience the difference between the jolly environs of the Royal Dublin Society and the down to earth feel of Thomond Park by attending the Munster Leinster game that evening. Thanks to the executive committee for supporting what will be a valuable rugby experience for future senior players.

On a wet and windy day in Coolmines, we lost our U17 League Final to Clontarf. The team and subs gave 110% and were a credit to themselves, their families and to the club. A combination of losing 4 key players to school rugby, injuries on the day, made it an up hill battle which those on the day fought until the final whistle. We would like to thank all those who gave us such great support on the day. A big thank you to Tim Kelly and John Power, for their support on the day and all their support so far this season. Finally a big thank you to Chris, Steve, Owen and John, for all their support and effort. Next up the Metro Cup! Martin Kearns.
