2nds have a bad day at the office
Seaton took on Stocktonians in a fixture with some trys to be enjoyed mainly if you are a stockton fan but a huge effort to be enjoyed if your a SCRUF
When your facing a uphill battle pulling a 200 stone bolder and can’t get up off your knees you can’t be asked much more than to give 100% which from to 1 to 22 Seaton did. Shaun Smyth impressed in the 6 shirt with a work rate of 20 men , he’s never played a game of rugby so tiring in all his life by all accounts.
Stockton however turned up with a belly full of fire , a well facial groomed hooker and some wheels in the backs a potent recipe for any rugby playing side. I’m not going to beat around the bush and say we were robbed in every department as we simply weren’t. Stockton’s pack was well drilled and organised and knew from 1-8 what they had to do to win the ball for their talented backs to do with it and what they did with it they did well scoring trys from anywhere and with a full back evidently rolling back the years and gliding in and out of our defense.
Seaton’s effort can’t be faulted with Wray , Brallo , Aird , Frain and Noble all putting a monster shift in the scrum and to be honest it’s arguably been one our best scrimmaging performances all season in the 1st half.
Simon Wilson played his part with some tidy work at the lineout and work in defence whilst Matty Stringer bought an aggressive touch to the scrum half position and Jason Bailey playing well at 13.
All in all it was just a bad day at the office in the sense that the computer won’t start the printer won’t print and your coffees gone cold but the lads give it their all and what more could you ask from them.
Billy Lithgo also added his first try since 1978.
