FIRST EDITION 26TH FEBRUARY 2015. ( Late post to website but has been on club noticeboards since day of publication.)

SCRUFC NEWS BULLETIN

by John C. Harrison ( aka 'H' the touch judge).

For some weeks now I have been promising to start up a regular “newscast” to improve communication throughout the rugby section. It is my intention to use Facebook, Pitchero and the various club notice boards as soon as I can pick up the appropriate technology skills. Meanwhile that wise old guy William Lithgo said that I have got to start somewhere. This then is the first edition.

Presentation Evening.

The date has been set for Saturday 23rd May 2015. Details yet to be finalised but it will be held upstairs in the club and is likely to include a hot buffet so that the ticket price will be affordable.

Player Reunion Saturday 11th April 2015

Just a reminder to look at Michael Driver's post on Facebook.

“ The club is hosting a reunion day for all past and current players. The day itself is scheduled for a 1.30 meet in the bar for a few pre-game socials ahead of the first team fixture v South Tyneside College. Following the game it's back to the newly refurbished club house for a bite to eat and a few beers.”

If we can make a success of this one it could become a regular feature of our social season. Certainly it is hoped to repeat it as part of our RWC 2015 programme. The idea then is, not to sit back and hope that others will bring their old mates along but, that as many as possible of us get involved.

Clubhouse Improvements.

The next phase will start sometime this weekend 28th February/ 2nd March 2015 and will involve the re-styling and refurbishment of the terrace area overlooking the cricket pitch. The various “experts” have already been engaged or coerced but if anyone has any spare time next week all will be made welcome.. Contact Billy or Kenny.

Rugby For Heroes 15th -17th May 2015

Once again I refer you to a Facebook entry. Many of you will have read Neil Addison's suggestion that we attend this tournament at Leamington because we won't be touring this year. What perhaps you don't know is that there is a rising swell of support for the venture. Make space in your diary.
