For those of you who do not know how it works, we'll warm up with some touch or a stretch until enough people arrive, divide into teams of 7 (or possibly 6 depending on numbers the first couple of weeks) and scrimmage until it gets dark or we get tired. Here is a list of some tournaments happening this summer:
June 09 – Lehigh Valley 7s or Media 5 on 5 shoeless beach rugby
June 16 – North Penn 7s sponsored by Body Armor
June 23 – Bryn Mawr cup hosted by us
June 30 – Harrisburg 7s
July 07 – Cheesesteak 7s
July 21 – Surfside 7s in Stone Harbor hosted by Philly Whitemarsh
or July 21 - the New Jersey 7s Tournament hosted by Princeton
The way tournaments work is that somebody who wants to play in a given tournament will sign up and front the money and then other guys who want to play in the tournament will pay them back. It usually comes out to about $20 per individual per tournament. Guys can sign up and play in as many of these tournaments as they like but I think in the past we've done every other weekend since people are busy in the summer and it's hard to go to a tournament every weekend. We'll talk more about the details as we go along.
