Sedgley had 9 players missing so both sides started with 14 players.This was the first game of 2011 and the six weeks since the last game showed in the opening exchages with both sides making basic handling mistakes.
Mid way through the first half Sedgley started to get on top and after some strong running and support play Pete Gambon scored the opening try, conversion missed. From the restart some good handling in the cold conditions saw the Tigers make steady progress to the Wigan 22 meter line. Some exellant forward play saw Pete Gambon crash over for the his and the games 2nd try of the game.

The second half stared well for the Tigers and after a jinking run fron Euan Saunders , Callum Monaghan energed from a ruck on the Wigan 22 to streak through and score under the posts, coversion by Euan Saunders.
Sedgley took control of the game with the forwards breaking through tackles and setting phase after phase. From a ruck the ball was fed out to Harry Cunliffe who scored under the posts, conversion by Euan Saunders. Wigan then had a period of pressure and scored a well deserved try.
From the kick off a good chase and pressure from the backs saw Callum Monaghan score his second try of the game, conversion missed.
The sixth and finally try of the game was an exellant team try with both forwards and backs linking up and supporting the runner resulted in the ball being taken from our own 22 up to 15 meters from the Wigan try line where Callum Monaghan finished the move off by scoring his hat trick.
