Despite Trials and Tribulations, Tip Top Trev Triumphs to Take The Title

There was one stand out performance yesterday with bat and ball, with most of our batsmen and bowlers having an off day. We had Matthews missing, McVey misfiring and a Dixon dismissal drought, but towering above them all was Northern League nearly man, Trevor Nicholson. Charging up to the wicket like a herd of angry Wildebeests thundering across the plain, he put in a tremendous bowling performance of 1 for 12 off 8 overs, and this came on the back of a top scoring 30 runs when we batted first. like a true professional, the result was more important to him than his performance so he didn't take the prize and therefore I am £2.60 better off. Cheers Trev!

Dan Greenwood scored a creditable 21 playing his first game of the season, but I am afraid it is likely to be short lived as he will be heading towards the first team. Paul Dew held the innings together in the middle order with a well crafted 28 although I am not sure how many shots he timed! Chris Berry was the outstanding fielder of the day.

The catches kitty remains the same as last week as there were no dropped catches, although none were offered!

More contenders hats in the ring for the captains prize, so keep doing the biz guys.

Cheers Ian
