New Coaching Team for 2016/17 season
Six weeks into pre-season training and seghill players are raring to go!! in the upcoming season. The 1st & Deputies will feature in Northumberland & Durham 3 and Coquet County league respectively. With Fixtures starting from the beginning of September.
The club is pleased to confirm a new Coaching team for this season, Head Coach Gary Miller will continue on in his role he took over in the second half of last season he will be backed up by the following coaches, Ian Swaddle as forwards coach, Mick Glennie returns to lend his considerable experience to the new line up! and has enjoyed putting the players through a rigorous pre-season fitness regime!! and they are joined by another familiar face in Norman Symington who will assist Gary in coaching back play.
This increase in staff helps due to the switch to Tuesday & Thursday training for this season.
The Club is always on the lookout for new players and would welcome back any former players who would be interested in playing for a local friendly club! please contact Club Chair George Arnott on 07711982506( or gwarn47@aol.co.uk) or come along to any of the Tuesday / Thursday training sessions, both commence at 7pm.
Pre-Season fixtures 2016/17
Only 5 weeks to go before we play our first fixtures with the 1st XV playing Wallsend in the season opener. The club has arranged 3 pre-season fixtures to make sure we are ready for the new season!!
Sat 13th August - .v. Whitley Bay Rockliffe (home) 3pm ko
Sat 20th August - .v. Ashington (away)
Sat 27th August - .v. North Shields (away)
Spectators / supporters welcome to attend these games, The clubhouse will be open on Saturday 13th august before / during and after the game.
The 1st XV will have a free week on the first Saturday in September due to the league having an odd number of teams. First fixture is home .v. Wallsend Saturday 10th September 3pm kick off.
Training has been going well for the last 6weeks, training on Tuesday/Thursday a new coaching set up so the players are looking forward to Rockliffe on the 13th.
followed by a first team social to start the season.
