Selby RUFC Festival of Mini Rugby held on
April 24th 2016
On behalf of Selby RUFC, and in association with The Read School, Drax, I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone attending our mini rugby festival.
In what is the 40th season of junior rugby at Selby we have seen our playing numbers grow from 30 players, back in January 1976, to c. 400 boys and girls playing today. Here at Selby and throughout Yorkshire, youth rugby continues to thrive and grow.
Today we celebrate the end of another successful and enjoyable season. Festivals are for the enjoyment of all and are only possible due to the army of volunteers who have given their valuable time and enthusiasm in making today possible. Their motivation is simply that all participants have fun and in return, all they ask is that all parents and players respect their opponents and the officials at all times. We would particularly like to remind everyone to respect the match officials and stay away from the touchline side during games.
The Coaches meeting will take place in the clubhouse at 9.40am.
Finally, a big thank you to all of the festival sponsors.
Have an enjoyable day and good luck to everyone.
