Bowl Final awaits
With all aspects of the team performing from 1-18, Selby gave little for old adversaries Moortown to work with. The tone for the game was set early on when winger Pickering put in a thumping tackle and from the progression of play, Wright on the opposite side chased his own kick to give the home side the lead. As the forwards maintained control, a pick up from the scrum saw Cicero power over under the posts to give Townend an easy conversion. Within 5 minutes Wright would again cross in the corner after some powerful running. As the home side pressed their advantage, some neat handling saw Thacker finish off a fine move.
Half time Selby 22 Moortown 0
The home side continued the second half as they left off, and it wasn’t long before Taylor scored another try for the impressive forwards. As the conditions worsened, some slick handling saw Wright secure his hat-trick of tries, and secure his Man of the match performance for the backs. As the backs at last started to show what they could do with good ball, Dallimore followed up his own kick for the seventh try of the day. With the clock running down an excellent display by the backs saw Calvert running a sublime angle through a static defence and complete the scoring.
All told, the best team performance this correspondent has witnessed, with everyone putting in a shift. The forwards took control early in the match and with Hutton providing quick ball, the backs were there to finish some tremendous handling moves.
Superb team achievement.

Kevin Weston - 1 year agoWell done lads a cracking performance in very diffcult conditions. A good team effort and some good coaching form the side lines!!
Good luck in the final and play as you did against Moortown, you will bring home the silver ware!
Jason Cicero - 1 year agoThanks Kev and many thanks for a fair and consistent refereeing display. Certainly no complaints from me.
Regarding the performance, I think Bruce said it, sublime. From 1 to 18 one of the best displays I have seen. It did start up front and the front 5 never let Moor settle. Well done to Elliot, Alec and matt who attacked them both on our ball and theirs and it paid off. Frazier and Toby provided the mmmph and performed tremendously in the line out also. Rucking form the F5 was Instrumental in securing decent ball for the backs to flourish. 3 of the tries came directly from set piece, well done. The back row were everywhere with charlie leading by example. Great to see Sam back and hungry and Mr Walker doing the dirty work and being the great nuisance that he can be. Plenty of turnovers to work off. Pick of the backs, all of them , with them gaining in confidence every time they had the ball. Angus going form strength to strength and working off a strong fwd platform had a stormer. Ted expertly directing play and territory and ash "Scott Williams" dallimore taking every opportunity to punish the moor backs. Matty Calvert handling superb and along with Danny P whose strong defence showed the way forward as well as his strong running with ball in hand. Of course mr wright did what he does best and scored tries having to work hard in the process, a class act. Rob took his try well and was in the thick of the action when needed. Luke, cash and Tony came on and the intensity went up again. Superb hands Luke , good aggressive work form Tony and safe as houses Cash. Well done to all, you must repeat this in the final. Make sure you are at training tomorrow night!
