Selby's last game of a torrid season ended in another defeat at the hands of Maltby Main for them it was a victory which secured their premier status. But at least they were made to fight all the way for the spoils. Selby never laid down and had them sweating and scrapping for the full 90 minutes. But as we have witnessed all season it has been almost impossible to buy a goal let alone any points. It is a points haul which must be close to a club record low. So we must dust ourselves down and regroup in preparation for a difficult task of getting back to step 5. Congratulations to Glasshoughton who will be passing us and it has taken them five or six seasons to climb back up so the task will not be easy.Who knows what lies ahead in the coming weeks for Selby but i am sure that there will be no reprieve even though Division One Champions Handsworth will not be promoted subject to the appeal procedure. They have not managed to reach the required ground grading in time.
So after 15 seasons we say farewell to the Premier Division who knows when we will return but lets hope it is not too long. We would like to thank all our supporters for sticking with us and of course our many sponsors for showing faith with us we will keep you updated with any news throughout the close season

Michael Gallagher - 1 year agoTony,
Thanks for the comments, you are 100% correct, even at this level it is money that talks, players soon jump ship when even the small amount they get runs out.
Garforth are a good case in point of how money talks aren't they? As far as Selby is concerned I think we have been living above our eans for a while and now the chickens have come home to roost. I for one don't think it will be much easier next season and hope you enjoy some keen tussles with us, if we have a similar team you'll probably win them!
All the best,
Mick Gallagher.
tony dean - 1 year agocheers m8 as we both have no money to pay players should be close games good luck for the future
