Looking at the league table this looked to be a tougher test for us this week and for the first 10mins or so it was, with Shirebrook pumping the long ball up front trying to find thier big centre forward at every chance possible. This caused us a few problems in defence for us at first but after asking Josh Lee to man-mark him he didn't get another clear chance throughout the rest of the game so Well done Josh.

The Shirebrook pitch wasn't at its best either, being very bobbly in most places which made it all the more pleasing to see us still try to play good passing football and finding the wingers more and more to deliver good crosses into the box.
Shirebrook's manager came over to me at the end of the game and said it was a good game and that we had played well and deserved the win.

Another thing that was pleasing to hear was our parents saying during and after the game how well they had all played. Both Gaz and myself also said after the game how we thought it was a real team effort by all involved and we really deserved the win.

Result = Shirebrook Rangers Red 1 - SELSTON FC 3

Good Team performance lads and a great result, keep it up!!!.

Scorers for Selston,
Joe Minett - 1
Owen Lawton - 1
Kieran Tring - 1
