Sharlston progressed through to the 3rd round of the Yorkshire Cup with a convincing victory over a young spirited Elland side.
Rovers superior in attacking options soon raced into a 30-2 first half lead as Phil Hodgson, Gareth Davies, Tom Wandless, Dale Potter and Damien Thomas all crossed the whitewash and Chris Hill successful on all accounts.
Elland had taken the lead 3 minutes in with a Phillip Taylor penalty. Elland worked hard in the second half with Chris Sykes and Gareth Webb taking the ball in strong and with a determined defence managed to hold Rovers to 4 second half tries.
Carl Saville made a noticeable impact from the bench registering a quick brace and Dale Potter added 2 more tries to complete a hat trick. 3 of the 4 tries were converted from Hill, Davies and Miles.
Keith Brook earned the PA heating ltd Man of the Match gong with a lead from the front performance. In the third round draw Sharlston drew St Josephs at home which will be played 4th October.
This week seeâ€™s Rovers back in league action where they face boggy side Keighley Albion on their home turf, the club will once again provide a supporters bus which will leave the Sharlston Hotel at 12 prompt.
