Biography

Signed for Shaw Lane in time for the start of the 2017/18 season.

Clayton scored more than 110 goal in two spells with Alfreton Town and gained a reputation as a hard working striker, amassing more than 300 appearances for the Derbyshire club.

Clayton started his career with Barnsley FC and spent four years in their academy. Following his release he joined Rotherham outfit Parkgate FC in the Northern Counties East League.

Joined Alfreton from Gainsborough Trinity in 2007 having gained two caps at England 'C' level. In 2015 he joined Harrogate Town in the National League North and again became a fans favourite.
