The Sheers were forced to make changes due to unavailability's to Shane Cheesman, Toni Perri and Chris Machay who had to sit this one out due to a one match ban for receiving 5 cautions. In came Neil Roissetter, Andrew Charles and new signing Danny Taylor with a strong bench of Scott O'Connor, Robbie Wilson, Jamie Doble, Odge Davis.
Sheers were at the Spurs straight from the kick off with a quick passing move Luke & Timmy Taylor setting up the Rideout who set him self up only to crash his shot that hit the underside of the bar and went clear. 2mins George Dore' played the ball long across to Timmy Taylor who crossed in for Luke Taylor who's shot sailed over the bar. 8mins Danny Taylor beat the fullback but his shot skimmed wide of the target. 11mins Fleets first chance with a lofted ball that beat Harry Oakley but Luca Scannella was there to cover the danger. 12mins Fleet Spurs from a corner almost took the lead that Victor Mudonhi got in an overhead kick that Sam Knowles toe poked towards goal that then got deflected over the bar by Sheers George Dore'.Fleet were as much in the game as the Sheers now having another chance as No9 Karl Dallaway sliced his shot wide of the Sheers target. 21mins George Dore' won the ball in mid field and put in a ball that Spurs keeper beat Timmy Taylor to the ball. 24 mins Spurs take the lead after a poor pass from Luca Scannella allows Ben Greenwood to lob Sheers keeper Andy Rider to put the visitor's in the lead. Minutes later on 27 mins Sheers were level after a corner that the Spurs failed to clear after a shot from Neal Roissetter rebounded to Shane Rideout who shot home to put the Sheers level. Sheers took the lead from the spot on 30mins after Spurs defender Victor Mudonhi fouled DannyTaylor although the decision took time to be decided from referee & linesman. 32mins George Dore's fierce shot was palmed to safety by Spurs keeper Mark Appleby. 42mins Really good football from the Sheers attacking the Spurs leads to a Sheers corner. 43mins Sheers make the scoreline 3-1 from a corner that Spurs fail to clear that debutant Danny Taylor turns and glides the ball into the far corner of the net. Sheers were now powering on for more goals ending the half on top. HT 3-1
Sheers again started as they left off with attacking the Spurs that led to Sheers increasing the lead from Shane Rideout unmarked in the box to score low past Spurs Mark Appleby on 46 mins. Spurs never gave up and continued to keep playing and were rewarded in the 57th minute with a good goal from Jack Foster firing past Sheers keeper Andy Rider.65mins Spurs keeper Mark Appleby denied Danny Taylor with another good save. Hegs makes way for Scottie on 72mins. 73mins Nelly & George lose the ball on the half way line that allows the Spurs a chance to reduce the deficit 74 mins Timmy Taylor paces down the wing to send a good cross to brother Luke Taylor but his shot sails over the bar. 75mind Sheers keeper has to go down to smother a threat from the visitor's. 76mins Danny Taylor makes way for Robbie Wilson. Spurs continued to press creating several half chances. 85mins Shane Rideout who was voted being the Sheers Man of the Match made way for Odgie Davis who was quickly into the game making tackles and putting in good crosses that almost led to more goals for the Sheers. Spurs finished the match with a missed chance. Full time 4-2.
