Most comprehensive Junior Programme announced

We can't wait to get 2018 underway. We have programmes to suit newcomers to the game and hope to continue our progress in the older age groups. I don't think we've ever had 50+ junior games in a season previously.
- Adrian Maguire, Junior Co-Ordinator.

When you look outside at the moment, cricket might not be the first thing that comes into your mind, but regardless we are delighted to confirm the details for the Junior Section at Sheldon Marlborough CC for 2018.

For those aged 9 and upwards, as in previous years, we will be training on Tuesday evenings, from 6:30pm to 8pm. The first session will be on Tuesday 17thApril (weather permitting) and sessions will continue until Tuesday 21stAugust. All sessions will be run by fully qualified coaches.

We have entered league teams at U10 & U11 (Pairs cricket) and U12, U13 and U15 (11-a-side, T20) The competitive match programme gets underway from 7th May and continues through to mid July (including during May Half Term week.) There are 51 league and cup fixtures to arrange (more than ever before) and hopefully we will have fixture lists available by the end of April. As in previous seasons we will try and ensure all members receive some game time, either through squad rotation or additional friendly fixtures.

For those aged 7 - 9 we will be running “Big Hit Cricket” sessions in partnership with Pro Cricket Coaching. These sessions will aim to bridge the gap between All Stars Cricket and full hardball sessions. All sessions will be run by fully qualified coaches and will consist of a combination of technical drills and match play.

They will run on a Tuesday evening between 6pm and 7pm. The first session will be on Tuesday 1st May and the final session on Tuesday 17th July. There will be no session on 29thMay. If there is sufficient demand we will look to run some similar sessions through the school Summer holidays.

We will also be running All Stars Cricket sessions again, for those aged 5 - 8. These are a great introduction to cricket and will run on a Sunday morning, between 11:30 and 12:30 starting on May 13th. Participants will receive a bat, ball, t-shirt and other equipment so prompt registration is essential to ensure the kit is delivered before the 1st session. Registration is now now open here
