Week 11 Review

Weekend Washout

All 4 senior fixtures were abandoned over the weekend as the poor weather continues. We've now reached the halfway point of the season, despite the fact the 2nd team have only played 3 league games.

Foliot Fields is not in a good state, with the entire outfield completely saturated. We're going to need a lot of manpower to get the ground fit for Saturday's crucial 1st XI fixture with bottom of the table Offchurch. Before that though we need some help from Mother Nature, which is looking doubtful in the long range forecast.

The 1st XI did manage to fit in their T20 Quarter Final at Olton on Thursday night. 46 from Mohammed Tahir set SMCC on the way, but the lower order struggled to get some tight Olton slow bowling away. SMCC finished on 100-6 and made Olton work hard for the victory which they did with 3 overs to spare.

Next week's other fixtures are 2nd XI away at Pickwick, 3rd XI host MEB, Sunday XI travel to Five Ways OE. Whilst the Junior section are scheduled to be away at Nether Whitacre (U10 - Tuesday), home to Walmley (U12 - Wednesday) and away at Ward End Unity (U14 - Friday)
