U16s season 2016/17 and Colts 2017/18 season
The U16 matches are finished for the year, but training continues in the build up for the Canada tour. As all the boys are studying, training is limited to Saturday’s 10:30 to 12:30 until 10th of June, when the GCSE exams will take over. Once they’re done we revert to Wednesdays (6:30 to 8:00) and Sundays (10:00 to 12:00) starting on the 18th June to prepare for the Canada tour. Anyone from the current U16 or U17 squads is welcome to join us, whether you are touring to Canada, or not, an existing or new player. The last of these sessions will be the 9th July. We then take a break until August when preseason for the colts starts.
Colts training will take place Tuesdays (6:30-8:00) and Sundays (10:00 to 12:00) starting 6th August. All existing Shelford U16s and U17s will make up the colts team(s) and any new players are more than welcome to join us at any time. We will train on the new 3G pitch once it is finished and we’ll never miss a session because of the weather.

Colts coaches will be Mikael Biard (Coach and Team Manager), Rory Finlayson (Coach) and Carl Webster (Coach). Prospective new players may well know Rory from his role coaching Cambridgeshire U17s and Carl from his role coaching in the Cambridgeshire DPP. Regular guests from the Shelford 1st team squad and senior coaches supplement the coaching along with the occasional coach from around the region. With nearly 40 U16s and around a dozen U17s making up the squad we aim to run two competitive teams playing against other teams from around the region and competing in the colts cup competitions. With the U16s winning their second county title this season we want to carry on the tradition as colts. For any more information please contact any of the coaches, or the club through the contacts links on this site.
