The boys played a competitive round of three games.

I was very pleased with my team

On Sunday we hosted Ely we split into three teams, Team Paul, Team Chris and Team Dylan.

Team Paul
A very strong team with quick runners and quick tagging who turned Ely over a few times with the 6 tag rule which is very pleasing for us coaches. The tries were evenly spread through the whole team and it was nice to see some of the quieter boys when given the ball, run with pace and good footwork to score. I was very pleased with my team and could have chosen any number of the boys as player of the day but my player of the day was Seb Golden for his great tagging, his work rate, his good behaviour and his straight running which resulted in a great try.

Team Chris
The boys played a competitive round of three games. The last really showed their development as it was a narrower pitch which required straight running. All the players did extremely well with great attacking play but also excellent defence. We still need to work on coming up as a line but it is getting there. My player of the day was Seb as he was supportive in both attack and defence. Looking for the ball at the break down ready to start another attack. His pace and thrust through the Ely defence all day with no loss of energy or enthusiasm made him my choice on Sunday.

Team Dylan
Playing, coaching, or watching any sport in the sun is so much more enjoyable then in the rain and Sunday was no exception. The boys were all keen and handling was excellent with very few dropped passes well done!. We need to focus on using the whole pitch and making sure we are the first team lined up ready for the restart. My man of the match was Jim for his straight running and defensive cover. Looking forward to next Sunday and fingers crossed for another sunny Sunday.
