Does your coach deserve an award? Have you got an inspirational player in your team? If so, read on.

The search is on to find the stars, clubs and individuals who are an inspiration to others, or who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in their community. LIVING SPORT has once again partnered up with Cambridge News to host the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Sports Awards.

There are ten categories to choose from. Nominations will be accepted from anybody, for individuals, clubs, teams and schools with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough connections. A nomination form can be downloaded from the LIVING SPORT website or submitted online at the Cambridge News Sports pages.

Look out for all the coverage across the Cambridge News titles, from this Thursday. Closing date is Friday 7 October.

Please help us find the sporting stars and unsung heroes in your sport. Why not nominate a club in the Community Club of the Year Award or Teams in the Team of the Year Award. There is individual recognition to be gained for performers, in the Anglia Ruskin Sports Performer and Disabled Sports Performer, as well as Young Sports Performer award.

Coaches and volunteers can be recognised for their achievements in the COACHING:HQ Club of the Year, Barracudas Activity Day Camps Young Community Volunteer of the year or Services to Sport. Have you been involved or know of a project that demonstrates the ‘Power of Sport’?

All the County Award winners will be forwarded to the BBC East Region awards where we have had great success in the past. In fact the last two regional winners in the Young Community Volunteer of the year have come from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough through the county awards; Paris-Rose Brixey and Matthew Newton both amassed 100’s of hours of volunteering in more than one sport to be the deserving winners of the award. We have also had great success in the Sports Performer category with England Women’s Cricket Captain Charlotte Edwards and Huntingdon Gymnast and Commonwealth Games star Luke Folwell went on to win the regional award in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

The special Award Ceremony dinner will take place at the Burgess Hall, St Ives on Thursday 10 November. Shortlisted nominees will be given a pair of free tickets to the Awards. Other tickets will be available and on sale soon, so if you want to spend an evening with the sporting stars and unsung heroes from the county, led by Micky Quinn Ex professional footballer and now race horse trainer, while enjoying a relaxed meal in a first class venue contact LIVING SPORT for ticket information.

For more information on the Awards please visit the LIVING SPORT website or contact Rebecca Gilbertson at Rebecca.gilbertson@livingsport.co.uk or call on 01487 849929.
