A last minute try secured yet another try scoring bonus point.

The history between Sheppey and Lordswood has been a colourful one in recent years, with game sbeing abandond and tempers flaring but Sheppey knew that they could not rise to it, they had to remain calm and execute the game plan if they were to come away from Lordswood with a win,

The game started brightly with a penalty slotted home by Lewis Frostick in the first minute. and on the 5 minute mark the lordswood number 8 was binned for a dangerous tackle, leaving him self with a nasty cut. Sheppey could not capitalise fully with the one man advantage.

Lordswood showed that they weren't going to make things easy for sheppey when a bout of ill-discipline saw sheppey defending a line-out on their 5 metre line which was poorly defended and lordswood crossed the line followed by an impressive conversion in the strong wind.

The two sides battled for dominance and no one was going to back down but it was Sheppey's Aaron Mills who crossed the line in the 36th minute. Bill Bright crossed the line moments later followed by the Lordswood captain who felt the need to use a knee, striking Brights head Long after he touched down, needless to say nhe was binned.

The second half saw sheppey playing against the strong wind, with lordswood punishing the for mistakes pinning them in thier own half for a long period it was only the heroics of Dave Marsden who prevented not one but two tries keep Lordswood at bay. It took almost 20 minutes of continued pressure for Lordswood to cross the line with a well worked try.

After working their way up to the Lordswood 22, Sheppey were stringing phases together only for a lordswood defender to dive over the top of a ruck driving back Joe Walshaw as he dug for the ball, sending him flying back but with the ball in hand, the Referee played advantage and the young scrum half showed his class evading a number of defenders and racing in under the posts.

The final 10 minutes was much of the same with Sheppey piling on the pressure and it wasn't until the final seconds of the game, an interesting clearing from the Lordswood scrum half was read by No 10 Frostick who crossed the line, securing the bonus point.

In previous season Sheppey may well of let their frustrations get the better of them but their discipline has been a shining point of the season so far and was a key factor in the win.

Lordswood are a force to reckoned with at Home and if they could improve their away form they could be formidable force in Kent 1.
