Shepshed Dynamo 3 Boldmere St Michaels 2

Shepshed Dynamo recovered from their 2-1midweek away defeat at AFC Wulfrunians with a Michael Reeve last minute winner to beat Boldmere St Michaels 3-2.

A result which moves Dynamo from tenth to eighth in the Total Motion Midland Football League.

Shepshed started brightly reminiscent of their early season form with Shay Brennans volley saved by Lewis Fenney on two minutes.

But a resurgent Boldmere who were unbeaten in their last three games responded. Cosmas Matwasa back pass was met by a slip by Denham Hinds who recovered but was bared down on by Alister Brauns but fortunately his block went wide of the goal on five minutes. Two minutes later and Hinds saved from Brauns and Brauns then had a further opportunity a minute later.

The balance of play switched back to Dynamo with an instinctive back flck from Brennan just wide of Fenneys goal on twelve minutes.

Shepshed took the lead on seventeen minutes Brennan breaking through the middle of the Mikes defence to beat Fenney in goal.

Reeve should have made it two, two minutes later his header from Liam Hursts cross wide of the target.

Ben Usher - Shipway then fired straight at Hinds on twenty one minutes. Reeves then headed wide again for Shepshed on twenty three minutes and Hinds saved from James Lyng on twenty eight minutes.

Boldmere equalised on the half hour mark Harry Craven given a free header on goal from a corner headed into the left hand corner. Two minutes later the Mikes threatened again Joe Pheasant forced to clear in the six yard box.

Shepshed nearly went back in front on thirty seven minutes Hursts neat through ball put Brennan clear who attempted to lob Fenney but he was equal to it with an acrobatic save.

Boldmere ended the half strongly Charlie Morris firing wide on thirty nine minutes and Usher - Shipway and Brauns with further efforts for the visitors. But the final chance fell to Hurst on forty four minutes but the teams entered the break level.

Reeve had the first chance of the second half on forty six minutes from Hurst cross but Fenney was there to save Boldmere again. Two minutes later and Cameron Gayle fired over for the visitors.

Shepshed restored their lead on the hour mark Cosmas Matwasas ball over the top found Reeve who supplied Brennan to double his and Dynamo's tally.

Matwasa was involved again on sixty three minutes his cross found Hurst but his volley was wide.

Shepshed were looking to kill the game off and secure all three home points Reeves shot saved by Fenney on sixty nine minutes and Hurst header wide a minute later.

Dynamo's failure to convert their chances looked as if it was going to cost them on seventy three minutes as Boldmere substitute Curvin Ellis latched onto a loose ball and to his own great joy equalised for Boldmere.

The equaliser stunned Shepshed as the visitors were now buoyant pressing for a winner. After two efforts were blocked by Shepsheds defence Brauns fired wide on seventy five minutes. Jack Skinner also on substitute then fired wide on seventy eight minutes.

The game then became a thoroughly open affair with Dynamo responding their own substitute Liam Reads shot saved by Fenney on seventy nine minutes followed by two Boldmere efforts from Usher - Shipway and Brauns.

Shepshed finished the game strongly Hurst effort from outside the box going wide on eighty four minutes. Karl Whymarks throw into the box was met by a neat turn and shot by Reeve which was deflected for a corner which was cleared by Lyng. Then Matwasa effort cleared the bar on eighty nine minutes

But it was Shepshed who were to have the last laugh with almost the last action of the game. Hursts cross was met by a deft header by Reeve to beat Fenney into the net to claim all three points.

Shepshed for the second weekend made hard work of their opposition and Boldmere will feel aggrieved not to have claimed a share of the points. Three value home points with two tough looking fixtures ahead of Dynamo. Westfields at home Tuesday evening 8pm Kick off and a visit to current league leaders Spoting Khalsa next Saturday.
