Shepshed Dynamo 1 Romulus 0
Shepshed continued on their winning ways with an hard fought game against a very tough Romulus side.
The game started in freezing conditions which made the game difficult to get going as both teams cancelled each other out. It wasnt until the 18th Minute before the first chance of the game was created when Shepshed had the first shot on goal when Sam Moore's attempted shot was blocked and the ball fell to Karl Whymark who laid the ball off to Liam Hurst who's shot just went over the bar.
The game was pretty even when Romulus had their first chance on goal when a cross from the right by Ashby was whipped into the Penalty area and as the Shepshed defence hesitated Degville - Cross nipped in before them but put his header wide of the post.
Romulus had a second chance minutes later when a throw in from Taylor was cleared only to land at the feet of Rowe who smashed the ball across goal but the ball was cut out by Shepshed Keeper Brandon Ganley with two Romulus forwards ready to pounce to tap the ball home.
Shepshed then had two chances of their own when Patrocinio had a shot on target cleared by the Romulus defence then Hurst tried his luck but Romulus Goalkeeper Belford made an easy save.
Not the greatest first half with both teams creating very little so 0 - 0 was a fair reflection of the game.
Shepshed started the second half with an handball appeal in the Romulus penalty area but it clearly came off Haynes thigh.
Then in the 57th Minute Shepshed had a great chance to take the lead when a shot from Melbourne was well saved by Tyrell Belford the ball then fell to the feet of Liam Hurst who's shot was easily saved once again by the Romulus keeper.
Then in the 59th Minute Shepshed took the lead when they were awarded a direct free kick and up stepped Hurst who curled the ball straight over Belford in the Romulus goal the ball ending up in the bottom corner of the net to give Shepshed a well deserved lead.
Romulus then had an in swinging corner that caused the Shepshed defence a problem with Ganley having to punch the ball away to safety for another corner which resulted in Keen heading against the Shepshed bar the ball landing at the feet of Halil who put is shot over the bar.
Suddenly the game sparked into life with Romulus creating three good chances witch included a penalty appeal that was waved away by the referee but the Shepshed defence stood firm and then Shepshed created a chance of their own when Mwanyongo weaved his way through the Romulus defence but his shot was cleared by defender Kris Taylor.
Then with time nearly up Romulus got a free kick just outside the Shepshed box and it was Captain Taylor who decided to take it and it was not far off as it just flashed by the right hand post and that was that Shepshed survived to take the 3 points.
This was a difficult game for Shepshed who had to dig deep as Romulus made it difficult throughout the whole 90 Minutes but this win means that Shepshed have know gone 10 games Unbeaten in all Competitions.
