Shevington Sharks defeated Atherton Dragons by 42 - 26, thanks to a much improved attacking performance.

First half tries from Miles Roper (2) and Joe Riley (2), saw the Sharks take a 22-16 half time lead. The tries were a deserved reward for some enterprising and flowing attacking play. However, poor tackling from Shevington meant that the Dragons remained in the game.

The defence was better in the 2nd half and further tries from Miles Roper, Joe Riley, Umyla Hanley and Matthew Hines saw the Sharks clinch victory.

This was a much better performance from the team as a whole, with forwards and backs both sticking to their game plans and combining well. Jay Blackwell drove the ball up well, whilst Will Frost distributed well from dummy half and defended admirably.

Man of the Match - Joe Riley - a nice hat trick and some good link up play
Top Tackler - Harry Pierce - a great effort effort in the middle of the park
Coach's Award - Daniel McCarroll - put into practice many of the things that he has worked on in training

Special mention to Umyla Hanley and Jake Ibbotson, both of whom played a half each for Atherton. Both boys performed with distinction.
