Sharks impress in Aspull
New Springs Lions U10s 4 v 30 Shevington Sharks U10s
Shevington Sharks U10s produced their best performance of the season to defeat a much improved New Springs team by 30 - 4.
A lot of the good work that has been done in training recently bore fruit in this game, in what was a rounded team performance.
The Sharks led 16 - 4 at half time, thanks to two tries from Joe Riley and one on debut from Sam Burns. Shevington's defence was also up to the mark with Miles Roper and new recruit Ricky Taylor both prominent.
The second half saw the young Sharks get better and better as they managed to shut out a determined New Springs Lions team. Umyla Hanley scored from a nice drop off move, before Sam Burns crowned an excellent first appearance with a length of the field effort. On the stroke of full time, Joe Riley completed his hat-trick with another long range score.
This was a cracking performance from the team and one that has been long overdue. The hard work that the boys have been doing in training really shone through in this game and all of the lads can be proud of their contribution.
Man of the match - Joe Riley - great distribution and some excellent one on one tackles
