Ady Smiths statement,

The last game out against South Normanton in the Derbyshire Cup saw us go out to a slim 1-0 defeat against a very good footballing side riding high in the East Midland equivalent of the NCEL....

We finished the game on a high, probably doing enough to have come away with a result on chances, the last 10 minutes throwing up a great penalty appeal, Liam Morris hit the post, and a last gasp Planty effort flying just wide...

Although the return of 7 wins out of 10 in the league since we came into our roles is a good percentage on paper, as Julian says we are striving to reach the level and consistency of performances that will make us a stronger and more rounded outfit...

This involves a 100 percent commitment on our part , acknowledging where any improvements can be made and continuous scouting for the right standard of player who can improve on the Squad already in place, coming into the club part way through the season, when players are settled at clubs can prove difficult , however we will not drop our enthusiasm to try to move the club forward...

We have had success with introducing good quality youngsters into the side , Robson Doolan proving that youth can blend well with experience, Matty Thompson returning to our fold and earning his right to a position.

Aswell as work behind the scenes to scout already established players in, a link with the local youth players has already taken its first steps, 16 year old local lad Cameron Mitchell has begun training with the first team, and discussions on the possibility of an under 21 side next season to get an influx of young players and establish a better way of introducing youth towards first team debuts and form a more structured club for future seasons...

We hope you will get behind the lads as you normally do, and all work towards a better future, maintain your enthusiasm and add an extra man in our games...
